Kristel + Jason: Vintage Romance at Union Station
We are beyond pleased about the stylized engagement session we are about to reveal to you.
Kristel and Jason came to us not really knowing what they wanted to do for this special shoot. They knew they want a stylized shoot and had an idea they wanted to go within a vintage direction but other than that it was our job to figure out the rest. We worked very hard with our amazing photographers, Brian and Allie of Callaway Gable Photography, to come up with a stellar concept at one of the best vintage locations in Los Angeles. This shoot really was destined for Union Station, the light and architecture within this romantic train station centered in Downtown LA was just perfect. Thank you so much to Jeff Cooper of Hollywood Locations for working with us on this and as always being such a pleasure to work with!
Once we set our venue, we then took a trip with Kristel and Jason to our favorite costume company, Western Costume, where we we costumed each of them in authentic 1940's vintage attire. Western supplies costumes for both television and film, so this was actually so fun to work on together. We searched through their extensive warehouse for hours, seeking out the perfect look. It was important for the photos that they not only were representative to the time period and setting, but we also wanted to select vibrant colors so they would pop with the scenery at Union Station. As you can see below the colors we choose ended up being a huge success! Thank you so much to Eddie, Kristen and Bobbi over at Western for allowing us to have this opportunity.
This photo was captured in Union Station's Main Concourse, it's an amazing room with incredible light. It's stunning to do an event in here also, so grand and filled with intricate details.
This picture is so intimate and sexy. It's definitely a favorite! We love how it highlights all her pearl jewelry too. The vintage treatment Brian and Allie did for this photo was just breathtaking too!
In addition to taking dynamite photos, Callaway Gable also contributed to the art direction, bringing some stellar props to really take the shoot to the next level. Those vintage suitcases and a collection of her grandfather's newspapers were the perfect addition to really set the look.
This is favorite #2. How authentic does this look? The look on Kristel's face is priceless too, it almost looks as if she's saying goodbye.
Our final favorite, #3, it's just epic! No words describe how realistic this looks and feels, the emotion behind is really powerful. Not to mention that incredible sky!
We hope you enjoyed viewing this post as much as we enjoyed working on this session. We loved styling this shoot so much, that Sterling Engagements is now offering custom tailored designs for your engagement sessions. Whether it's through just wardrobe or props as well, we are very excited to extend our services to include this. We have our next shoot next month, again with Callaway Gable Photography and we really cannot wait! Be sure to look out for those photos!
Happy Day!
