Please come support Jason David's Corner Foundation, as the non-profit organization embarks on a journey to continue to give back to the community. The foundation was created by New Orleans Saints Cornerback and California native, Jason David. Jason was drafted into the NFL in 2004 contributing to the Indianapolis Colt's Super Bowl XLI Championship in 2007. Jason's mission is to bring faith and courage to every corner in the community by motivating youth to stay positive and have self respect at an early age, encouraging youth to see the importance in education and to see that they have the opportunity to go to college, and being a role model by inspiring youth to work hard, be persistent and to set goals. Jason is able to do this by hosting events geared toward engaging and inspiring youth to have fun, but to also learn by conducting community service activities that will engage the youth in positive activity to direct them down a progressive path and continuing to demonstrate the importance of service learning and giving back to the community. To continue to make all this possible the foundation needs your help!
Please join us on Friday, June 26th, 2009 in Pasadena at Brookside Golf Course for the 1st Annual NFL Celebrity Golf Tournament. Join Jason David, special guest emcee ABC7 news anchor, Phillip Palmer, NFL players, business professionals and community members for a day of golfing, networking and supporting the foundation's cause to increase the awareness and research of kidney disease. Golfers will be treated to a quick massage between holes, enticing food samples from the on-site restaurant, and of course the chance to win fabulous prizes. Each participant will have the opportunity to play with NFL players, receive a commemorative photo and gift bag. It’s extremely reasonable to play and if you register a foursome your rate is discounted too!
Sterling Engagements has joined forces with this wonderful organization to assist in event logistics as well as fabulous sponsorships. We are currently looking for additional sponsors for the event as well as the tournament gift bags. Please visit the website to learn more about participating in the tournament and available sponsorship opportunities.
If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Alexandra directly at Alexandra@sterlingengagements.com or (818) 889-8900.

Romancing the Storm
The expression through thick and thin cannot even begin to describe the experience I just found out about today from my good friend and amazing wedding photographer Candice Cunningham.
Romancing the Storm is a brand new concept she created taking one real couple on the journey of a lifetime. Candice has put together an award winning celebrity photographer and documentary team to create the ultimate experience. Together with a storm chaser, the team will travel to Tornado Valley and design the ultimate extreme bridal fashion shoot with Tornadoes as their backdrop.
My only question is who will achieve the intense dramatic presence more on the shoot, the passionate couple in love or the out of control tornadoes in the sky? Only time will tell when this exciting shoot debuts...
Stay tuned for more details to come. In the meantime here are the most up to date details from the Romancing the Storm website.
"This year, a celebrity Photography and Documentary Team will join this frenzy to give away the ultimate “Bridal Fashion Photo Shoot” . . . in Tornado Alley at the peak of the severe weather season.
Candice Cunningham, nationally-recognized wedding photographer and innovator of the “camera slinger,” the world’s first double camera strap, is teaming up with famous celebrity wedding photographer Robert Evans and multiple award-winning director and television producer Curt Apanovich, who will bring their expertise and artistic touch to this spectacular endeavor. Robert and Curt will tell the story of the chase through their website http://www.engagingfilms.com.
The team will be led by storm chaser and documentary film producer Jared Aicher, whose experience will safely lead the party into the heart of nature’s fury to get the perfect shot. Jared will also be documenting this challenging expedition through his website: www.newwindstudios.com.
Every member of this incredible team will work together with one lucky couple, and the unpredictable weather, to create the ultimate “Bridal Fashion Shoot” and literally Romance a Storm. The team will capture the shoot with raw photography footage in the midst of chaos, and it all will be documented in High-Definition video. "
Happy Storming!

We heart Monique Lhuillier!
Okay seriously the new Monique Lhuillier Spring 2010 collection may make you weak in the knees! Each gown is better than the next!
Our favorite is the Sunday Rose! This silk organza beauty is a strapless stroke of perfection. The pleated bodice is beyond words, especially when combined with the rose embroidered a-line skirt.
Happy Sunday Rose!

Amazing Opporunity from The Bridal Bar!
Harmony Walton and her team at The Bridal Bar are offering an INCREDIBLE opportunity for 2 lucky brides! If you are a Monique Lhuilleir fan like us, this is definitely worth visiting The Bridal Bar page and commenting on! You have until 5pm on Sunday ladies, so make sure you meet the deadline before the week ends...
"Bridal fashion week ended just a few days ago and now those gorgeous gowns go on the road for trunks shows across the country. Excited to see the new collections? Well, what if we told you that The Bridal Bar is giving away a few coveted spots to see the brand new collection by Monique Lhuillier BEFORE the trunk show actually begins?? That's right girls - we've got a chance for some very special VIBrides in the Los Angeles area to get that Hollywood treatment and preview the collection before the masses. *Insert screams of excitement here, we're that giddy!*
Monique's always fabulous trunk show will take place in Los Angeles on April 23-25. And just before the store opens to the swooning many in hopes of finding that perfect fit; her flagship location on Melrose Place will shut down for six very important bridal bar brides. So what does this mean exactly? That the gowns are in-transit and upon arrival in Los Angeles, on Wednesday, April 22nd from 6:30 to 8pm the Monique Lhuillier store will be closed to the public in order to cater to the every need of six lucky brides-to-be. The collection will be on display to allow YOU to be the first to see, touch, and try on these incredible gowns with the personal attention and service of their oh-so fabulous staff. It's the royal treatment - champagne, sweets, and a store full of dresses just for you.
But wait! This little gathering of gowns is by invitation only. We will be giving away invitations to a few ladies in our store, but two of the spots are reserved for our loyal blog readers! That means you - if you're in the LA area! In order to qualify, upload a comment on this post and tell us a little about your wedding and why a Monique gown makes your day complete. Two comments will be selected and the winners will attend this special private soiree. Brides must be local to the Los Angeles area and available to attend the VIPreview on April 22nd.
Good luck ladies! And have no fear, if you don't get the opportunity to participate in this evening, the trunk show begins the following day so you can still get your fix (and your gown too).
Check back with us for more goodies as this is just the beginning of many very special perks that comes with being a very special bridal bar bride and part of our new VIB3 program - but more on that later. Now tell us why you must wear a Monique (in 150 words or less please)! Contest ends 5pm PST Sunday, April 19th. Invitees will be announced Monday, April 20th."
Good Luck Ladies and Happy Posting!

Happy Passover!
Happy Passover to all of those who observe this special holiday. Wishing you a wonderful Seder and happy holiday.
Check out this fabulous article in the ever so informative Huffington Post of the Top 5 Passover Traditions from Around the World.
Number 4 was the most interesting for us...
"GIBRALTAR: In the British territory of Gibraltar, the tiny island off the coast of Spain, Jews actually mix the dust of bricks into their charoset dish, a symbol of the mortar used to hold together the brick walls the Jews built in Egypt, according to Hillel. "

LA Style Unveiled: Plan your Wedding Resources Revealed!
In case you missed our first post earlier this year, LA Style Unveiled is the new hot place to be!
Heather Sharpe and her team have gone above and beyond to create a wonderful experience for each bride that comes to the LA Style Unveiled website. What we love about this uber chic site is how personal it is for our LA brides. While some of our other faves like Style Me Pretty and Junebug are so fabulous to read, LA Style Unveiled accommodates our Los Angeles Brides to be, offering them fabulous finds, information and detail all related to the LA wedding scene. This is special for brides, because they not only are learning unique and creative wedding inspiration plus advice but it also makes it personal for them. The majority of the content they read is accessible within Los Angeles, so it's comforting to know that what they see on this stylish blog, can also be a part of their special day.
On April 1st, LA Style Unveiled debuted their fabulous resources on How to Plan your LA Wedding. This lush library filled with the best of the best is amazing. Be sure to check it out and learn about all the great Los Angeles vendors from selecting your Venue through planning your Honeymoon. Also, don't' forget to check out Sterling's listing under their Coordinators section. The Style Unveiled team took careful consideration into putting together a collection of LA's finest. We are so pleased to be a part of the Style Unveiled family and look forward to working together again in the future!

Spring Break Fever: Spicy Cocktails to Kick-Up your Celebration
Hello Darlings! Since today officially kicks off the first day of Spring Break for so many of you out here, I'm posting a few tasty cocktail recipes in honor of the fabulous week of fun that so many are about to embark on.
Red Cedar Sunset
Ingredients
2 oz. orange juice
4 oz. champagne
3/4 oz. grenadine
How to Make It
Pour orange juice, then champagne into a chilled champagne glass.
Gently drizzle grenadine into glass.
We found this recipe on The Knot but it actually came courtesy of Natalie Bovis-Nelsen/TheLiquidMuse.com
This next drink is just perfect for watching the final four in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. A shandy is a British cocktail that combines beer and lemonade. This is the perfect combo if your not the biggest beer fan but still would like to drink beer with the guys!
Ginger Shandies
Ingredients
Three 11.2 ounce bottles of chilled Hoegaarden beer
One 12-ounce bottle chilled ginger beer
1 thinly sliced lemon
Mint springs, for garnish
How to Make It
In a large pitcher, combine the Hoegaarden with the ginger beer. Stir in most of the lemon slices and mint springs.
Fill 6 rocks glasses with ice. Add the remaining lemon slices to the glasses and pour in the shandy. Garnish each drink with a mint sprig and serve.
We found this recipe on Yum Sugar, but it's actually courtesy of Food & Wine.
POM Springs
Ingredients
2 oz. Pomegranate Peach Passion White POM Tea
1 oz. light rum
1 oz. Myer's Dark Rum
1 1/2 oz. cranberry juice cocktail
1 1/2 oz. fresh orange juice
Garnish
slices of orange, lime and peach
How to Make It
Assemble all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a goblet or tall glass over ice. Garnish with orange, lime and peach slices.
We found this recipe on the Pom Wonderful website.
Happy Mixing!
