Sterling Buzz: Hello from Star, Sterling's Newest Team Member!

Hello All!  My name is Star Hansen and I am very excited to join Sterling Engagements as the newest member of the team.  I’ll be assisting both in the office and onsite for events.  I look forward to working with you and sharing my inspiration the blog.  As the newest contributor to the Sterling blog, I thought I'd share a little bit about myself with each of you.  I look forward to many more posts to come, but for now, here's a little about me!  

I’m a born and raised southern California girl and currently live in Thousand Oaks with my husband, Trevor.  We are expecting our first child in May and couldn't be more excited!  I have a background in wedding coordinating and design, project management and have led various corporate events.  I love baking, cooking, and crafting.  I am addicted to cooking shows and subscribe to more food magazines than I care to admit to.  Experimenting with new recipes is one of my favorite things to do!

I've always enjoyed social events, entertaining and weddings in particular.  Growing up, I collected bridal magazines and wedding inspirations in anticipation for my future wedding.  My husband and I married in July 2008 at Rancho Chiquita in Malibu.  I planned everything myself and loved every minute of it!  That is when my passion for weddings really blossomed.  Since then I have assisted in planning and coordinating weddings for family, friends and friends-of-friends.  

My favorite aspect of a wedding is the details.  I believe weddings where unique details are incorporated make for the most memorable events. An avid crafter, I enjoy seeking out and trying DIY décor projects, many of which I have shared with brides I’ve worked with.  I cannot wait to share with you my wedding inspirations, DIY projects, and recipes.

Sterling Engagements Update: We've Missed You!

We know how long its been since our last blog and let me just start out by saying HELLO! We've missed you so. We've been so very busy and things just continue to get even busier by the minute being that it's our Summer Season! We have so much to catch you up on including some incredible weddings, amazing press and favorite vendors!

In the past couple months we had our Platinum Weddings debut, took an AMAZING trip to Tahiti where we saw the best places to get married, planned an incredible launch party for the new event industry website RentalComp, and more importantly... We have our new look!


The new website & blog are obviously up and the feedback has been so kind! We love hearing all your kind words and are honestly thrilled to start blogging again on this pretty palette! Thank you to Shannon from Eight Crazy Design for beautifying our new blog! Plus of course Burcu from Mujka Chic for going above and beyond the call of duty with the design of our new look! We love you both for all your hard work, patience and of course unbelievable talent!

Thank you to all our readers, brides, vendors, family and friends, for your continued support and sweet feedback! We cannot wait to post about our past few months and what we have been doing!!! So get ready to be caught up to speed in the coming weeks and wowed with inspiration, advice, plus so much more!

New Site for the New Year: Check it Out!

There's a new site in Los Angeles that I definitely recommend checking out. It just debuted this week and already seems to be buzzing.


Style Unveiled Los Angeles is a new guide which provides the best of resources, stylish advice and of course inspiration. They have some amazing areas of the site including their Eco-Chic section, The Runway and general advice on tying the knot. In addition, you can view their featured weddings, check out their blog called The Lounge and read helpful articles like the inspirational Couture Coloure.

The site created by Heather Sharpe, originated in Seattle and seems like it will be popping up in cities near you soon! Check out Seattle Style to see more of what's to come on LA's site!
