Festive Fridays: Amazing Proposal Video!

So it's the start of a weekend following a holiday so I knew today's Festive Friday ppst had to be a good one. This video is one for the books.  It's romantic, a grand jesture, fun, sweet and a real tear jerker if you're a hopeless romantic like me.  Tori and I watched this one in the office together and by the end were seriously crying our eyes out.  Well she teared, I maybe have let out the waterworks...

Anyway, super excited to share this one with you.  Isaac, the one proposing is truly a creative and really knocked this one out of the park!  Not only because he rallied a village for his proposal but also because he picked the perfect song and made his fiance's moment perfectly unique!  It's just too sweet not to share!

Hope you enjoyed this one as much as we did.

Festive Fridays: Just Dance!

One of our July brides shared with me what a priority dancing was going to be for her big day.  She described it in saying that "dancing would be the heartbeat of their big reception".  I was so inspired by this and then started thinking about how important dancing truly can be.

Dancing is one of my favorite things to do and I just don't do it nearly as much as I want to.  Being an event producer in LA though, I definitely get to see my fare share of others dancing though.  This year I'm determined to dance all night long for my big birthday in November.  Hopefully a few times before that too, but in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite images capturing those hot moves on the dance floor!  So fun and festive and perfect for today's post!

Check out these awesome moments!  So festive, so fun!

Yes, yes, now I'm sure your feeling inspired and want to get out and dance!  Have a dance party tonight, get your grove on, practice your first dance or even start to attack your reception music.  Whatever you do, make sure to dance a little this weekend... if you're anything like me it may be ultra cheesy and to something like my new favorite dance song, "Call me Maybe"!

Hot of the Press: New Father - Daughter Sweetness by Edwin McCain

Last Friday we received a letter from Saguaro Road Records in regards to Edwin McCain's new hit single "Walk with You". We were definitely excited, maybe somewhat curious, but the letter mentioned we'd be receiving it separately so we set it aside. Well... today we received our copy and the song is AMAZING!

In the past, we have always favored songs by Edwin McCain like "I'll Be" and "I could not ask for more" for weddings, the lyrics and the romance in his music is so powerful. These songs have always been favorites to suggest to our Brides and we were very excited with the news of a new song to suggest, especially one for the Father-Daughter dance. While we've always used songs like "Butterfly Kisses", "I loved her First" and even "My Girl", this one is definitely jumping to the top of our list!

Take a listen for yourself and feel free to comment and let us know what you think! Don't forget to silence our wedding suggestions playlist at the bottom of the page before you begin!

We love it! It's so beautiful and sweet, we're thrilled to begin using it as I know this is a song both Fathers and Daughters will relate too. We are very happy to share it with you and all our brides, especially our 2010 brides currently picking out their song choices.

To download this song and have it for your special day, go to this website.

Happy Listening!

Hottest New Song for Bouquet Tosses!

Thanks to Beyonce, there's a hot new song out on the dance floor for bouquet tosses. To get the vibe really rolling check out Single Ladies and pump things up a notch.

The history for tossing the bride's bouquet dates all the way back to the 14th century in France. On her wedding day, a bride was believed to be especially lucky. Guests would charge toward the bride as the ceremony concluded in hopes of tearing off a piece of her gown. In doing so, they brought her gown pieces home for their own good fortune. This chaotic behavior often became quite wild and dangerous. To protect herself, brides came up with the idea of throwing their stockings and/or garter. This worked for a short time until brides began to rebel and reject the new idea. It was then that brides began tossing the bouquet and switched the ritual. This tradition has stuck with brides ever since and aided in ensuring that the groom is really the only man that the gown truly goes home with that night.

Don't' forget to make sure you ask your florist to make you a toss bouquet so you can hold on to your actual bouquet.

If you are not a fan of tossing a bouquet here are a few other options that still involve your guests.

▪ Ask your florist to create a breakaway bouquet where it is only held together by a ribbon. Right before you toss the bouquet undo the ribbon and this allows multiple people to catch your luck.

▪ Choose a close friend or relative to dedicate your bouquet to, give the bouquet and pass your luck on at the same time.

▪ Together with your fiance decide on a couple that represents the type of marriage you wish to have. Honor them by giving the bouquet to them and saying a few short words on why they equate what you hope to be.

▪ Ask your DJ, Band or MC to arrange an anniversary dance. This is where a song is played and all the married couples dance. While they are dancing your MC auctions off time frames, such as 6 months or 5 years and so forth to represent the length of time they have been married. As each time is said couples stay on the dance floor until their time has been announced. Eventually there will be one couple standing and this is the couple that shall receive your bouquet. Passing your bouquet to the couple together the longest to signify your luck for your future together.

Happy Tossing!
